Photos show soldiers flogging and Chasing elderly women in the streets. These women only came out to sell their fruits so they can feed.
With the deadly coronavirus (CODVID-19) ravaging the world right now, many countries has already initiated a total lockdown and place restrictions on movement. This lockdown includes the shutting down of all public and government offices, private and public businesses, markets, interstate transportation, and closure of borders. This preventive measures taken is deemed necessary, even though it has gone on to cripple the world economy as countries cannot trade among one another. The rate of manufacturing around the world has decreased because no one is interested to buy anything as of now, unless it is related to health.
Oil prices has gone down because there is a decrease in demand.
So far, many countries has imposed curfew in their states, which has negative effects on its citizens as most average people especially in Africa, depend on their daily income to feed daily.
To achieve a total lockdown and ensure that people comply with the “sit at home” order, security personnel were deployed on the streets to enforce the order by any means necessary including use of force.
In a disheartening pictures circulating all over social media, soldiers could be seen flogging and chasing elderly women off the streets, some of them were severely beating and could be seen crying bitterly as a result of the intensive flogging they received from these set of heartless soldiers. This is very sad because most of these women only depend on what they make from their daily sales as a means of survival.
Viewing these will break your heart and you may find tears rolling down your eyes. One keeps wondering why these soldiers went this far to carry out their civic duties.
In other developed countries, government ensure they provide palliative care to their citizens, especially the poorer ones, ensuring that they are well – fed as they obey the lockdown order. But in Africa, the reverse is the case.
